If you're relocating to the area or just in town for the weekend, it's sure that you'll soon discover that there is a wealth of shopping opportunities in Little Rock. Whether you're just trying to equip your new home, complete with accessories like aquarium filters for the pets or are looking for that one unique item for a special someone, Little Rock has malls and shopping districts to service you. This guide to the city's retail options will hopefully help you know where to start.
Let's start with the shopping centers and malls located in the city. We all know that specialty stores are great, but sometimes you just need one place where you can get a new outfit and gardening hand tools. The University Area is home to three of the city's malls and Cantrell has more of the upscale box stores. Chenal Parkway and Bowman is a great section of town with a combination of specialty stores and some retail chains.
Breckenridge Village and Rodney Parham is a collection of shops, restaurants, clubs and smaller entertainment attractions. Ashley Square has a number of national chain shops but Trellis Square has more unique stores. If you're looking for a picture frame or organic baby lotion, this might be a good place to start. The Village is the largest section of this side of town and has a selection of restaurants and retail locations.
The River Market District is a huge gem in the city where you can not only shop, but also experience some of the city's best daytime attractions, food and nightspots. The Museum of Discovery, the Old State House and the Clinton Presidential Library are within walking distance of President Clinton Avenue's many restaurant and club choices. You could head to one of the dueling piano bars or after a day of finding that perfect Alfred Sung wedding gown. Or you could have a laid back night at Sticky Fingerz Rock 'n Roll Chicken Shack.
Midtowne is one of the city's newer shopping districts and is growing with clothing stores, shops with kitchen and home accessories and restaurants. Most of the stores are recognizable names that you will see across the country and if you saw a Toronto patio set before relocating to Little Rock, this might be one of the places where you can find a similar design.
Little Rock is full of retail locations where you could easily find ways to ring up your credit card. Just pace yourself and have fun!
